Global Shapers Oxford
The Global Shapers Community is the youth arm of the World Economic Forum. It is a network of young people driving dialogue, action and change. Worldwide, over 11,000 Global Shapers are based out of 502 hubs in over 150 countries and territories.
Our members include students and academics, entrepreneurs, writers, lawyers, activists, policy makers and many others.
What is the Global Shapers community?
The World Economic Forum established Global Shapers as a worldwide community of extraordinary young people in their 20s. It’s a community that allows young leaders to meet, build relationships, and work together on impactful topics that matter most to them and their communities.
Youth are greatly under-represented in global affairs despite being 50% of the world’s population. As innovators, digital natives, and the ones whose futures most depend on the outcomes of today’s policy decisions, we deserve a seat at the table.

The Global Shapers programme has no single agenda or purpose. Rather, it’s a platform that enables its members to pursue their own projects — and collaborate on others’ — in a way that amplifies their impact.

There are hubs in most major cities and Oxford is one of the most vibrant hubs in the network.
Who are we?
There is no one “Shapers type”. The Oxford Hub is a group of 20 youth who encompass a wide range of backgrounds, careers and interests.

What we have in common is ambition, leadership and a desire to use our skills and opportunities to make a difference to our community in Oxford and the wider world.
In the past, the Oxford Hub has sent out Shapers to major World Economic Forum events including the Annual Meeting in Davos and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China. Together with Accenture and the Global Alliance for YOUth, the Global Shapers Community has also established the Innovation Prize to empower the next generation of change-makers.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds to apply.
Why Apply?
A global network
Few other organisations can boast the diversity, quality and intimacy of membership of the Oxford hub. Whatever your passions and ambitions, there will be members of the hub who share and complement your interests. Emphatically, Shapers is not about superficial networking; real friendship is the foundation of what we do and why it works.

Support and resources
Aside from projects, the extraordinary convening power of both WEF and our own members allows us access to organise and attend events with world-class speakers and other participants. Moreover, membership of the hub provides access to engage with the broader World Economic Forum community, including the opportunity to apply to attend the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos and other major events.

Skills and training
Develop leadership, communication, and project management skills through workshops, online resources, and opportunities within the World Economic Forum's network. Apply these skills through the local initiatives that the Oxford Hub launches - previous projects range from sustainability mentorships to policy hackathons.
